5 eco-friendly products that are kind to the environment
If you've read our eco message, you'll know that we're a proud eco-friendly business, committed to sustainability and supporting a greener, healthier planet.
One of the ways we're kind to the planet is our decision to use only 100% recycled, FSC certified and recyclable materials for our paper and card products (including the packaging).
Even our business cards are tee not tree, which means they're made from recycled T-shirt offcuts, reusing fashion industry waste.
We also love to be eco when it comes to other products, and there are some fantastic brands creating inventive recycled and reusable items that share our environmentally friendly and ethical motto.
With Plastic Free July in full swing, it's the perfect opportunity to share our love of brands and products that are already part of the global movement trying to reduce plastic pollution and paper waste.
Here are some of our favourites:
Huski Home Cup
We're typically British, which means there's nothing we love more than a nice cup of tea. It's rare you'll see either of us leave the house without a thermos or travel mug, and Huski's biodegradable coffee cups are perfect for tea on the go. Their cups are made from rice husks, which is a recycled, non-toxic alternative to plastic. They also come in lovely muted colours and two different sizes.
Beeswax Wraps
Cling film might be a cheap and easy way of keeping food covered and fresh but it's pure plastic. Carly and Fran's Beeswax Wraps are a planet friendly sealing alternative to cling film and tinfoil. They're hand made from organic GOTS certified cotton, Pine Resin, organic Jojoba Oil and UK Beeswax and come in an assortment of lovely patterns (we love the floral ones!).
Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper
Launched in 2012 with an IndieGoGo crowdsourcing campaign, Who Gives A Crap offers an environmentally friendly alternative to regular toilet paper. It's made without trees, with the option of recycled paper or forest friendly premium bamboo. Better still, 50% of the company's profits go towards building toilets for underprivileged people with poor water and sanitation.
The Dartmoor Soap Company
Our ancestors are born and bred Devonians, which is probably why we have such an affinity with The Dartmoor Soap Company. With biodegradable packaging, their soaps are palm oil free and not tested on animals. They use local ingredients including beeswax, honey, ale, goat milk and Dartmoor spring water. They also support the beautiful Dartmoor ponies, which we love.
Paper Pens Co.
Like us, Sydney based Paper Pens Co. only launched this year but their mission to create an eco alternative to the traditional plastic biro is one we can totally get on board with. They use 70% less plastic by replacing it with recyclable and biodegradable paper, which helps to reduce landfill. The pens are inspired by Feng Shui and Japanese aesthetics, so they look great too.
